The Kestrel's powerful twin engines and substantial fuel tanks allow it to travel great distances on each of its sorties, ideal for its usual role of protecting more vulnerable aircraft. Additionally, the two laser cannons mounted to its nose mean that the Kestrel is no slouch when used for ground support, slicing through enemy armor with each pass. Its distinctive engine noise followed by the crack of its cannons firing have lead to no small amount of affection for the machine from the infantry, who cheer as it shrieks past overhead.
